DL-Malic Acid

DL-Malic acid is a natural acid found in certain fruits, such as apples and pears. It is commonly used as a flavoring agent to provide a tart taste[1]. Its sourness increases saliva secretion which has been shown to help with dry mouth[2]. Other medicinal uses of malic acid include fibromyalgia, fatigue and various skin conditions[3].
