DL-Malic acid is a natural acid found in certain fruits, such as apples and pears. It is commonly used as a flavoring agent to provide a tart taste[1]. Its sourness increases saliva secretion which has been shown to help with dry mouth[2]. Other medicinal uses of malic acid include fibromyalgia, fatigue and various skin conditions[3].

Organic Cane Sugar

Organic cane sugar is grown and processed without synthetic chemicals, pesticides or fertilizers[1]. The processing method of organic cane sugar ensures that its natural trace nutrients (calcium, iron, chromium, magnesium, etc) are retained in the final product[2].The glycemic index of organic cane sugar is much lower than the conventional sugar used for sweeteners[3]

Citric Acid

Citric acid is found naturally in citrus fruits such as limes and lemons. It is commonly used in the food industry as a flavoring agent and as a natural preservative. Citric acid is also used in medicine to help prevent kidney stones and metabolic acidosis[1]. Additionally, this ingredient is responsible for lemon’s soothing effects on your stomach and its anti-nausea benefits.

Magnesium Stearate

Magnesium stearate is a salt, made up of two substances: magnesium and stearic acid. Stearic acid is a saturated fatty acid found naturally in many foods such as eggs, chicken, coconut oil, walnuts, human breast milk, salmon, etc[1]. Magnesium is an essential mineral found naturally in many foods such as dark green leafy vegetables and whole grains[1]. Magnesium is commonly used in remedies to treat heartburn and upset stomach[2].  Other medicinal purposes of magnesium include the prevention of migraines, particularly beneficial for women with premenstrual migraines[3].
